The Keto Diet is a high fat, low carbohydrate and controlled protein diet used to manage epilepsy. The charities below offer information and support on this dietary treatment.
Matthew's Friends Charity is dedicated to the use of the Ketogenic Diet to help children and also adults with drug resistant epilepsy. The charity provides the latest research and information on dietary therapies to help those that are failing medication. The work of the charity involves Ketogenic research, family support and professional education and training.
The Daisy Garland Charity works exclusively to help children with drug resistant epilepsy. The charity funds Ketogenic Dieticians in NHS hospitals. It gives grants for SATs/epilepsy monitors for use in the home. It awards small one-off grants for 'special needs' equipment. It provides family support.
Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS):

Epilepsy Surgery:
Epilepsy surgery may be considered for 4 to 5 % of children with epilepsy.
