LISA O'BRIEN

I am a dedicated professional with 30 years of nursing experience. I completed my nursing training at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital where I gained experience in several specialties but found my true passion was in the neurosciences.

My particular fields of interests are epilepsy, neurorehabilitation and complex health needs. I have worked within hospital and community settings in the NHS and private sector. I have a record of managing busy, complex caseloads, strong problem-solving skills and being a compassionate patient advocate. I have supported NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) in the development of the latest Epilepsies in children, young people and adult’s guideline and I am on the Quality Standards Committee. I provide VNS and Epilepsy Nurse Consultant clinics and training nationally about epilepsy, treatments, emergency medication and the impact epilepsy has on the person and people who care for them. I am passionate about training, raising awareness of epilepsy and working alongside my patients and their families to ensure they meet their full potential.
