CHARLES STEWARD

It is a huge honour to be both a patron and trustee for HOPE for Epilepsy. I am a genome scientist by career and have worked on the human genome for more than three decades, recently in epilepsy genomics. I am passionate about the impact that genomics is beginning to have in the clinic for people with epilepsy and my day job involves helping patients, clinicians, and scientists to understand both the benefits and limitations of genomic medicine. I have worked in patient advocacy for several years at genomics companies, most recently as the Head of Patient and Participant Engagement at Genomics England.

More importantly, I am the father to two children with epilepsy. I understand how important it is to have the opportunity to speak with other families about the challenges epilepsy can bring and HOPE for Epilepsy offers the perfect place to do just that.
